Errata and Known Issues

This is a working list of known issue. A formal Errata document will be published once validation of the board is complete.

Board Revision 80-001679-1

1. FPGA is Engineering Silicon Revision 0

Description
The initial -1 boards leverage speed grade 6 engineering silicon from Intel as part of the early access program (EAP). Customers should review related errata documentation from Intel regarding any issues with the engineering silicon.

Workarounds
There are no workarounds for this issue.

Planned Resolution
Next generation boards will leverage production silicon when it is available.

2. USB to UART Console Reset Issue

Description
The USB Console UART chip may not cleanly reset if a board has been powered down for a period of time and then is powered up with the USB cable to a host PC installed. When this happens, typically the UART RX LED remains on and the console IO stops functioning.

Workarounds
Insert the USB console cable after powering on the device. If your board enters this state, simply unplug and replug the USB cable into the board. This will force a reset.

Planned Resolution
This issue will be corrected in the next version of the hardware (-2 and above).

3. USB-C does not support USB 3.0 SuperSpeed rates

Description
The current engineering silicon used on the SBC does not support USB super speed transmission due to a bug in the silicon.

Workarounds
There are no workarounds.

Planned Resolution
Intel has promised production silicon devices will support the super speed capability. This will be available on -2 versions of the board.

4. TDK uPol Devices not responding on I2C Bus

Description
The TDK uPol power supplies used on the SBC to support the 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.8, and 5.0 V supplies were connected to the +1.8V I2C1 bus. The require a minimum of +3.3V I2C levels for proper operation.

Workarounds
No workarounds are available for -1 hardware.

Planned Resolution
Future versions of the board will put these devices on a level translated I2C bus operating at +3.3V.
