Power Supply and Heat Dissipation¶
The following measurements were taken with the devkit example project which can be found here: Critical Link MitySOM C10G Reference Project
This project uses a 100MHz clock for the processor and a 100MHz reference clock for the transceiver interface.
Temperature values were read using the "tempvolt" command in the console interface.
heatsink | fan included? | external fan | ambient temp (C) | device temp (C) | temp rise (C) | power draw (W) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
none | no | yes | 20 | 52.4 | 32.4 | 6.84 |
ATS-52290G-C1-R0 | no | no | 20 | 82.85 | 62.85 | 8.16 |
ATS-52290G-C1-R0 | no | yes | 20 | 42.25 | 22.25 | 6.6 |
ATS-61290W-C2-R0 * | yes | no | 20 | 42.92 | 22.92 | 6.6 |
The following measurements were taken with the transceivers removed from the same design.
heatsink | fan included? | external fan | ambient temp (C) | device temp (C) | temp rise (C) | power draw (W) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
none | no | yes | 20 | 44.28 | 24.28 | 3.84 |
ATS-52290G-C1-R0 | no | no | 20 | 59.84 | 39.84 | 4.2 |
ATS-52290G-C1-R0 | no | yes | 20 | 37.51 | 17.51 | 3.72 |
ATS-61290W-C2-R0 * | yes | no | 20 | 38.86 | 18.86 | 3.72 |
*note: the MAXIGRIP does not clip onto the processor due to clearance issues. the fan was simply adhered to the top of the SOC using thermal tape
