Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.2 and MDK_2011_08_01

Added by Keith Fletcher over 12 years ago

Hi,
I have just downloaded the windows version of Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.2 and attempted to build the examples IndustrialIO.xise from the MDK_2011_08_01, however I get the error "This project was generated by a previous version of Project Navigator & must be updated to new file format". To do this it appears the .vhd are required and not the .ngc files.

Is there a set of examples that are built on Xilinx ISE Design Suite 13.2 and if not, which version do I need to download to build them ?

The project and NGC files were built with ISE 12.3. We will be migrating the 13.x in the next release cycle.

Which ngc files does the project require the source for?

Hi Mike,
The files it was getting stuck on were ads7843.vhd, i2c.vhd, lcd_ctlr.vhd and tfp410.vhd.
However, I made progress, by removing them from the project whilst the project was updated, changing the device info to give a speed of -3, and then adding the ngc files back into the project. This seemed okay although there were many Synthesis warnings.
I am now stuck because of a translate error:

NgdBuild:455 - logical net 'io_ema_wait_n_1_OBUFT' has multiple driver(s):
pin G on block XST_GND with type GND,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_hrev with type FDE,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_dim_pwm with type FD,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_pwr with type FDE,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_backlit with type FDE,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_vrev with type FDE,
pin Q on block gen_disp.lcd_control/lcd_en with type FDE

However I get this error with ISE 12.3 also, so I guess this is something I am doing wrong in the build process - I am still a novice with VHDL and the ISE.

Thanks for your help
Keith.
