On the datasheet there is a note;
Note 4: I2C1 and I2C2 are used by devices on the module and therefore should not be muxed to other AM335x pins. The Power Management IC (PMIC) on the all MitySOM-335x modules utilize I2C1 at address 0... Anthony Barker
