You're correct, this is an issue with poky-crops updating their docker to contain the new 4.1 toolchain for poky which therefore breaks using it on older versions.
The workaround I have for the moment is to launch the docker ... Mike Fiorenza

UPDATE:
Adding 22Ω series termination resistors on the RX RGMII traces leading into the mitySOM module solved this issue! Ethernet works great now. S. D.
