Hi,

Usually our kits are provided with a cable. A couple kits require a NULL modem connection. Have you tried this cable?

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Nourhan Elsayed almost 4 years ago

it worked thank you!
the problem was the cable.
I am trying to get the address of the port and i run root@mityomap# ifconfig -a
i get the result in the attachment.
is this correct"?
which one is the address.
Also, you should provide a more detailed tutorial to get started with the product.
thanks,

There is no root password set. If you login as user root and press enter when asked for password it should let you in.

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Nourhan Elsayed almost 4 years ago

it doesnt work.
Please check the attachment capture.png
it doesnt ask for a username, only a password. i press enter it says permission denied.
attached is also the IP address info in the VM

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Jonathan Cormier almost 4 years ago

The 192.168.1.125 address you are using is the address of the VM. You need to use the address for the L138.

when i try to get the address of the l138 i get this (l138f_IP.PNG)

Have you connected your devkit straight to your PC? That ip address is usually assigned by windows if no dhcp server is found. http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/where-did-ip-16925451183-come-from/

For easiest setup it's recommended to connect devkit to local network that has a dhcp server.

isnt the dsp at eth0?
in this case i dont even have an IP address.

my dhcp derver is enabled (see attachment)

You should be able to force it to check for an ip address by running udhcpc -i eth0. Or something similar I don't have one at home to test with.

Alright let's revisit this question. Have you directly connected the devkit to your PC? If this is the case you may need to connect the virtual box to the right interface. This configuration is a little harder to get working if you aren't familiar with virtualbox and networking.

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Nourhan Elsayed almost 4 years ago

Ok here is what i have:
1- the tera term response to ifconfig a (teraterm_ip)
2
the virtual box terminal response (vb_ip)

which ip should i use"?

Both of those ip addresses are on separate subnets. They will not be able to talk to each other. Do you have an IT person who would be able to help you get the networking setup correctly?

It would be helpful if you explained how you have the devkit setup. How is the devkits ethernet connected to the PC? I recommend not connecting the device directly as this makes things more difficult for initial bring up.

Have you solved this problem? Try with ' root ' for password.

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Nourhan Elsayed almost 4 years ago

noo nothing worked.
whatever IP address i use it says failed to connect

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Nourhan Elsayed almost 4 years ago

also, the kit is connected via ethernet cable to the pc directly

RE: Mity DSP L138F program - Added by Jonathan Cormier almost 4 years ago

Hi Nourhan,

The devkit is setup to connect to a network with a DHCP server, not direct connect to PC. Your setup is possible but it is a more advanced setup. It would help you to find someone with Networking and Linux knowledge to get this setup.

If you would like to learn more about this yourself. You will want to setup a static ip address on the devkit and on the PC/VM.

You should probably set the VM networking into bridge mode
