Displayport

We are planning to use the high speed transceivers for a displayport output, but we're not sure of voltage compatibility and needed protection. Did you ever used transceiver for this usecase ?

Hello,

We have driven a displayport output from a MitySOM-5CSX transceiver group.

For proof of concept we had done an adapter board to use the PCIe slot of the MitySOM-A5E development kit to drive a mini-display port adapter (same signals, just a different pinout) using the transceiver pairs from the FPGA (driving DisplayPort protocol instead of PCIe). I am attaching that full schematic. That design uses a TI redriver, SN65DP141RLJR, which includes ESD protection for the transceiver pairs, as well as a SN65MLVD200AD driver (also including ESD) for the aux pairs. That said, it looks like the HPD should also have some sort of ESD protection, and it doesn't. I would recommend adding something for that.

If this is not clear, please let me know.

Thank you very much for your quick answer ! Your schematic is very clear, it's exactly what I was looking for; I'll add ESd protection on HPD and adapt voltages for my banks.
Thanks again,

Morgan
