QNX
Added by Rob Gillis about 14 years ago
Hello,
I am trying to evaluate QNX for our MityDSP-L138, and the apps engineer indicated that there is a custom BSP created by Critical Link for this module. I can't seem to find it on the Wiki, can someone point me to the right location?
Thanks

Hi Mr. Gillis,
We do have a QNX port and a BSP package, but we haven't migrated it to our external support site yet. Our resident QNX "expert" is out of the office until Monday. He would really be the best person to ensure that the correct information (and latest BSP files, etc.) is published. Can you wait until then, or do you need immediate attention?

Mike,
Thanks for the quick response. Monday is Ok, I'll get the QNX development environment installed in the meantime.

Rob

Rob,
I tried QNX 6.4 on our INDIO board a few weeks ago. I need to try it again with the 6.5 changes to make sure it still works. It will probably take a day or two to get this done and then I can post a bsp package at least to this site. Will this be work ok for you? Do you have our INDIO board or do you have your own custom board?
Thanks.
John

John,
I can wait a couple of days for the 6.5 port. I do have the Industrial I/O board with the L138 MityDSP module. Eventually we will replace the Industrial I/O board with our own custom design, but will reuse some of the interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-232, etc.
Do you have the FPGA driver in the QNX port? And do you use u-boot to load QNX?
Thanks,
Rob

Rob,
I have created a new project for QNX platform support. Please see http://support.criticallink.com/redmine/projects/arm9-qnx-platforms/wiki/Board_Support_Package for a download of the board support package. I will be adding more information to the project throughout the day.
Hope this helps.

John,
Thanks for providing the BSP. Your directions for getting it booted are clear, but I can't get it running on my hardware.
I get the following, then it appears to hang:
CPU Frequency is 300000000 Hz
CPU0: Dcache: 512x32 WB
CPU0: Icache: 512x32
CPU0: 41069265: arm926 rev 5 300MHz
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob Gillis

Rob,
What revision of the indio board do you have? I am running on rev D.
One thing to try is to turn off the DVI initialization. This can be done by changing the file src/hardware/startup/boards/mitydsp-omapl138/variant_indio.c so the line with ".use_dvi = 1" becomes ".use_dvi = 0". After changing the file, hit ctrl-S to save the file and then rebuild the bsp-mitydsp-omap-l138 project. (rebuilding the bsp-mitydsp-omap-l138 project does not force file saves of files in the bsp-mitydsp-omap-l138-src project so you have to manually do this)
Hope this helps.

Hi John,
Thanks, your fix worked! I'm running Rev. B hardware, don't know if that contributed to the problem, but I was running the correct FPGA file.
I don't really need DVI, and will try out my custom FPGA code next. Thanks for the assistance.

Rob
