Hi,
Is the MityDSP GUI , part of hardware shipment ? or do we have to buy it separately ? Can I download it from criticallink ?

Hi Thomas -
The MityDSP GUI is used only with our 6711 and 6455 based product. I believe you have an OMAPL138 or AM1808 based product, is this correct?

Yes, we have OMAPL138 product. Is there a user interface that works with this card ?
We are trying to use UART interface to communicate.

The Industrial I/O card (the MityDSP-L138 development kit baseboard) should have come with a 10 pin ribbon to DB-9 connector. That plugs into the connector next to the power input terminals. The interface requires a NULL modem serial connection to your host PC. The serial connection should be configured to 115200 BAUD, 8 bits, no parity.
The standard boot interface used for these cards is a derivative of das U-Boot, a universal boot loader commonly used in embedded applications. You should see some text on the serial port after power up or when hitting reset.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the reply. We do not have the baseboard. Only the mitydsp-l138 card. Can we still communicate with it directly ? For example, USB to ethernet ? Is that possible ?

I'm a little confused. The MItyDSP-L138 card is a system on module (SOM) or computer on module (COM), not a single board computer (SBC). It has only 2 connectors:
1) a JTAG connector
2) an SO-DIMM (200) edge connector
The card requires a baseboard to plug in to. Usually folks order a full development kit to get started (which includes a baseboard), while in parallel they design their own custom baseboard to meet their application needs. The MityDSP-L138 eliminates the need to design and deal with the more difficult PCB technologies of the ball-grid parts and complex power management associated with some of the more modern system on chip, DDR2, and FPGA parts. Baseboard designs typically involve very simple technology and can be developed in short order.
The base board is required to provide power (+3.3 volts, +5 Volts for the USB interface) and physical interfaces to the OMAP and FPGA chips (such as an ethernet PHY, magnetics, and connector, or a USB connector, or a UART phy and connector, etc.). The MityDSP-L138 isn't going to be able to do much without a minimal baseboard that provides a SO-DIMM 200 connector, 3.3 Volt power, and a console cable. Are you developing your own baseboard?

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the confusion.
We have our own baseboard with mitydsp connected to it. Using UART to USB it is now detected on the PC. Thanks for the help.
